To mark National Museum Day on Saturday, September 29th, the Logging Museum, in conjunction with the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C., was open with extended hours (11am-4pm), a free lunch (who’d've dreamed it), two-man saws for all to try, and guided tours of the indoor and outdoor exhibits, including the 1920 Shay locomotive. With the ladies of the museum in full period costume, and tables full of homemade food, visitors enjoyed beautiful weather, a great lunch, and their tours of the museum.
